Things I’m Glad I Don’t Know
by Stephen Brown
Text: John 13
Topic: Why God does not let us know certain things.
Big Idea: God does not let us know certain things because he wants us to respond to him in love.
Keywords: Last Supper; Betrayal; Foreknowledge

Introduction: We have the authority of Jesus, as a number of Scripture verses attest: John 13:20; Luke 10:19; John 14:13-14; Matthew 16:19; 2 Timothy 1:7; Matthew 28:18-19.

We don’t know whom Jesus has chosen.

We don’t know the future.

We don’t know other people’s thoughts.

We don’t know the depth of our own sin.

We don’t know what God is doing in other people’s lives.

We don’t know the blackness of a night without Christ.

Conclusion: Frank Meade has described the Judas who might have been.
